Michael is a masters student studying Violence, Terrorism & Security at Queens’ University Belfast.

He recently spent the summer of 2018, interning for the digital rights and civil liberties advocacy group, the Centre for Democracy and Technology in Washington DC. During his undergraduate degree at Ulster University, Michael focused heavily on deeply divided societies, both at home and around the globe, keenly focussing in his dissertation on the transformation of policing in post-conflict societies.

Michael has previously interned for the Police Service of Northern Ireland and has an extensive history of voluntary work with youth, policing and cross-community groups in his hometown of Belfast.
