Nicole Fintel is a recent graduate of Harvard University, where she earned a B.A. with honours in Government.

At Harvard, Nicole served as president of a classical orchestra, training director of the Massachusetts Small Claims Advisory Service, and co-chair of the Criminal Justice Policy Program at the Institute of Politics. Her research and writing focuses on political polarisation, capital punishment, and criminal justice reform.

Originally from a Nebraska farm family, Nicole has long been passionate about environmental, climate, and land use law & policy. She has been admitted to Harvard Law School and will begin working toward her Juris Doctor degree in 2026. She hopes to use her legal education to confront place-based disparities—particularly those involving criminal and environmental justice—in the United States and around the world.

Fellowship Project Calls for Action on Abuse of Political Candidates in Northern Ireland

A group of leaders from the Centre for Democracy and Peace’s Fellowship Programme have designed a new initiative tackling the abuse and intimidation faced by political candidates in Northern Ireland. As part of the programme’s design thinking module, the team explored real-life challenges and developed solutions aimed at fostering a safer and more inclusive political environment.
